| Do folks accuse you of just starring up at the stars? Tell them that you are learning about the universe and throw out a name like "Fomahaut" which just happens to be a name of a star. And where would you learn names like that, or just in case you truly do want to learn about the celestial bodies? Winstars is one of my most favorite non-pratical purposed programs that there are, unless you like stars and planets and ... | Do you Google? The Google Toolbar is a must have internet tool. In one skinny toolbar, you get so many functions, like a pop-up killer. After you download the toolbar just click on options and then check "Pop-up Blocker". |

| I do believe that this is a first. The first time that I have downloaded a program and recommended it in the same week. |
| Usually I like to play with a program for a while before giving it a “thumbs up” from me, but this program is so great that I need not to rip it to death before it hits this page. E-Sword is a Bible study program, a bible dictionary, a bible commentary, and multiple bible translations. Have you ever spent twenty, thirty, fifty, or even more on just a bible? Then like me, you will love e-sword. What makes it so great is the amount of downloads that you can plug in to it. Everything has multiple reference resources, bible languages, commentaries, you name it, it has it, twice or thrice more! AND, it is FREE. But this one time, I will ask you that if you have thirty or forty dollars to spend on a bible, to send the same amount that you spend on a new bible for the program on a CD to Rick Meyers, the creator of this awesome program. It is a huge file to download if you are on a dial-up connection, so it is well worth it, in more than one way or another. | With the hubbub of computer viruses and claims that everyone should have an up to date anti-virus program running all of the time, I became intrigued about a free anti-virus program called AVG. I have not tested nor even downloaded the program, so I will not try to recommend this to anyone, but if your budget is tight and you need an anti-virus program, you might consider this one. In the normal Google search bar, type in the name of the fella’ you are hunting down, type a comma, and then their zip code or city. | If it weren’t for notes, the world would dry up and blow away. If it weren’t for sticky notes, all notes would blow away. And if weren’t for 3M Post it notes, I would have sticky notes all over my monitor. Actually I still have a couple of stickies on my monitor but not the fault of Post it, it is the fault of me being a slob. Post it notes are a must have for any computer. Don’t believe me? | This date and time clock resides on the upper right side on my computer no matter what program I have open. Please note that I turned on the “Auto Hide” on my taskbar so that it will not take up too much valuable real estate, |
| so this little clock works out great for me. But that is not all the Slick Run clock does. When I click on it and type, “M” for Morning, it opens all the applications that I use first thing in the morning. Or if I type in “P” for Photos, it opens up a photo program that I use. But you can configure it to open whatever your little heart wills it to do, except it will not open your bank account because it is free. Download it by clicking on the clock picture. |

| Audacity. There are very few reasons that one might need this program, but that is not the point. This program can do the simple little things, such as covert audio file formats of one type to another. That is handy when ripping some music off of a CD onto your hard drive. Yet this program is so much more then that. This is the type of program that once you start playing with it, you will find other uses for it. |

| RSS Readers is one of the most featured packed RSS Aggregators that I have found. What is a RSS? In a way, it is the future of news media. RSS “Feeds” allow you to stay current with whatever news channels you wish to follow via the web. RSS Aggregators are the programs that let you “read” these feeds. How does it work? If you come across a site that has a button that looks similar to this; then you know that the site will have information posted to the reader as soon as it is published! All you have to do is copy the address link and add (click on the “+” button) it to your file called “My Feeds”. For the Wray Post, the address that you copy is; http://www.wraypost.com/rss.xml. |

| Tetravex, it’ll drive ya’ crazy. Of course in my case, the drive was rather short. To play the game, you are given 9 dies in a 3x3 square (You can play with 16 in a 4x4, but that should only be attempted when a certified mental care finicality is close by), and you have to arrange the numbers onto the grid so that all #s that touch each other are the same numerical value. If you have a 7 on the top, the die that touches it has to have a 7 on the bottom. Simple right? |
| Well, saddle ur giddyup before your play this game, for ya’ll need to receive immediate attention after, cause you’ll pull out all of your hair. Another bit of advice, do not play this game too many times or ya’ all will start talking like a redneck! My best time is 50 seconds. Let me know if you beat that, I’ll bring flowers to ya’ at the loony bin. By the way, I found this game in a ISO Image of Ubuntu that had the GNOME desktop built in. But that is another story that is more understandable after ya’ play a game or two of Tetravex. Download |
